Knysna Municipality has begun a series of urgent, high-intensity interventions to stabilise and strengthen service delivery across Greater Knysna. “This follows a directive issued by the National Council of Provinces and the subsequent approval of my Service Delivery Recovery and Innovation Action Plan,” confirmed Executive Mayor Thando Matika.
“I have introduced weekly War Room meetings to ensure focused oversight and improved accountability,” he continued. “These sessions bring together senior management to report on progress, challenges and targeted solutions. I established the War Room specifically to coordinate our response to service delivery issues and to ensure that corrective actions are implemented effectively and transparently.”
It is important to emphasise that this initiative does not replace or bypass regular municipal customer care channels. All residents are encouraged to continue logging service requests through the existing platforms so that they can be formally recorded, allocated a municipal reference number and attended to.
Service requests can be logged via the Collaborator App, contacting the municipal switchboard at 044 302 6300, emailing customercare@knysna.gov.za, visiting our offices or contacting specific departments.
“If a resident has already lodged a service request through the official channels and it has not been resolved satisfactorily, I invite you to bring such matters to my attention directly,” concluded Matika. “We remain committed to restoring service delivery standards, improving response times and rebuilding public trust. We appreciate the continued cooperation of all residents as we work to overcome our current challenges.”
A valid municipal reference number will be required to ensure proper verification and follow-up. Contact the War Room at 044 001 2631 or warroom@knysna.gov.za.
