STANDARD BANK IS NOW THE PRIMARY BANKER FOR THE KNYSNA MUNICIPALITY.
Municipal customers, service providers, members of the public and all other stakeholders are informed of the new banking partner for the Knysna Municipality.
The municipality has been added as a predefined beneficiary on the Bank Directory as listed below.
Predefined Beneficiary description:
Knysna Municipality Main – used for account and other payments.
ACCOUNT PAYMENTS: use municipal account or reference provided
Knysna Municipality Traffic – used only for traffic payments
TRAFFIC FINES: use traffic fine number as reference
Payments can also be made at any Standard Bank branch, ATMs and online.
Please use your municipal account, sundry debtor reference or traffic fine number as your unique customer reference number. Keep your municipal account handy when making payments.
Payments can be made using any one of the following options:
Direct deposits to Standard Bank (“over the counter payments”):
- Payments can be made over the counter at any Standard Bank branch, countrywide. Customers using this method must fill in the unique beneficiary number allocated to the Knysna Municipality:
- Always remember to use your municipal account, reference or traffic fine number in the depositor’s name or reference field.
- This will ensure that the deposit is allocated to the correct municipal account or fine.
Internet payments (EFT)
- If you pay via internet banking or a banking app, it is advisable to delete any old Knysna Municipality beneficiary;
- Go to payments on your app and enter Knysna Municipality in the space for public or registered beneficiaries. It will allow you to make a payment;
- Remember to use your municipal account, reference or traffic fine number as your reference.
Other methods of payment:
- ATM, Telephone Banking, and other: Customers who make payments made via stop order, telephone banking, or the ATM must change banking details at their banks.
- Debit Order customers need not make any changes.
- Third Party Payments: Customers who pay via Easypay pay-points such as Pick ‘n Pay, Checkers, and Woolworths are not impacted. They should, however, remember to take along their barcoded municipal account or traffic fine. Note that payments may take up to five days to register on the municipality’s system.
