Banking details change for Knysna Municipality

The banking details for Knysna Municipality will change on 1 November 2022. “Standard Bank is now the primary banker for the municipality,” explained Acting Municipal Manager Johannes Jonkers. “We advise all our customers, service providers, members of the public and other stakeholders to take note of this change.”

Jonkers confirmed that it would still be easy to make payments to the municipality. “Payments can be made at any Standard Bank branches, ATMs, or online. Knysna Municipality has been added to the bank directory as a predefined beneficiary, making it easy to select our new banking details.”

When making account payments, the municipal account number must be used as a reference. To pay traffic fines, use the fine number as the reference. Jonkers urged users to use the new banking details from 1 November. “Partnering with Standard Bank moves our banking practices into the future, taking us another step closer to creating an inclusive, innovative and inspired Knysna. As their slogan says, ‘It can be’.”

The municipality’s banking service providers are appointed according to five-year tender agreements and Standard Bank met the latest tender’s terms and requirements.
