ESKOM APPEAL: Save power between 5pm and 9pm

ESKOM NEEDS YOUR HELP TO REDUCE ELECTRICITY USAGE EVERY DAY.

The national electricity system is currently operating under constrained conditions and is in RED alert. This is due to a high number of technical problems being experienced on the ageing Eskom generation plant.

In order to manage the situation, Eskom needs the country’s support and assistance in reducing the demand of electricity to manageable levels over the next few weeks.

It is critical that every electricity user switches off all lights and appliances such as geysers, stoves, airconditioners and swimming pool pumps during the peak period from 5pm to 9pm.
